Hungarian Writer László Krasznahorkai Awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature
The Hungarian writer has awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature.
This Hungarian author was celebrated "for his powerful and prophetic collection that, during apocalyptic terror, reaffirms the strength of art."
Krasznahorkai has authored five novels and received many other literary prizes, for instance the 2015 Booker International, and the 2013's best translated book honor in Fiction for his debut book "Satantango", a avant-garde piece concerning the finish of the globe.
He is the 2nd Hungarian author to receive the prize following the former Kertesz Imre, who received in 2002.
Brought into the world in 1954, László Krasznahorkai earned fame in 1985 when he published Satantango, which he transformed for the cinema in the mid-1990s.
The black-and-white drama, by Magyar film-maker Béla Tarr, is notable for its seven-hour duration.
Krasznahorkai's additional books include:

- "War and War" (the late 90s)
- Seiobo There Below (the 2000s)
Nobel committee portrayed him as "an exceptional sweeping author in the European custom that spans by way of Franz Kafka to Bernhard Thomas, and is marked by the absurd and distorted excess."
His 2021 novel "Herscht 07769" has been labeled as a significant modern Deutsch story, due to its precision in portraying the country's societal unrest just before the pandemic.
It is a portrayal of a contemporary hamlet in Thuringia, Germany, afflicted by societal lawlessness, killing and fire-setting.
"Kind titan Florian Herscht is an ward, adopted by a far-right extremist who has trained him as a street art remover.
"His employer, a Bach fanatic, is incensed that an individual is spraying wolf symbol emblems across the memorials to the renowned composer in their Eastern German town."
One critique remarked it as "thus bleak from start to finish."
Krasznahorkai's newest mock-heroic novel, Zsömle Odavan, returns to the Hungarian setting.
The protagonist is 91-year-old Uncle Kada, who has a hidden entitlement to the royal seat but has gone to great lengths to disappear from the planet.
